This is Nava from Nepal Environmental Treks and Expedition.

Spring season is upon us and there are increasing tourists’ arrivals in Nepal with our weather getting warm with plenty of sunshine during the day. Spring is one of the main seasons for travel and trekking in Nepal. There are some festivals celebrate in spring. We have already celebrated Shivaratri festival, one of the important festivals in the Hindu culture and The Holi festival, which is the celebration of colors.

As far as the political situation is concerned, the Chief of Justice was appointed and acting as our Prime Minister, his appointment (Chairman of the interim electoral government) was only agreed by four political parties for the purpose of the upcoming constitution assembly election. There are many other political parties disagree with the decision, and for now will wait to see the outcome. There’s been no serious demonstration and strike since the appointment and all business carry on as usually. I am very optimistic of the situation and believe Nepal is still a safe and peaceful country to visit.

I have great news to share with you if you have plans to travel to Tibet. The Chinese government has formally announced the reopening of the Tibetan border for the visitors of other nations and has started to issue the permits and visa for the tourists, which started from 01/4/2013.
